my silencer is getting a bit rattely and i think i'm due a new one. is the original one any better or worse than the keihan one. my bmw dealer has the originals but they are considerably more. i was also toying with the idea of fitting something totally different and making a footpeg mount. has anyone done this and can anyone reccomend a silencer thats cheep to buy and good for this purpose? :thumb2

IMHO............ I'd be wary of changing away from the original downpipes and collector box, after that pretty much anything will be OK but check the carbs as they may need adjustment.
I have a the OE downpipes and collector box on my GSPD but a lowlevel end can that allows equal size panniers

My PD came with a bolloxed standard silencer. I replaced it with a Keihin, it's ok and sounds a little tinnier than an original. As Nick says try and keep the original downpipes and collector box.Nothing screws a Paralever up quicker than fitting a Keihin Y piece (should be called a T piece) and the Keihin stainless downpipes haven't got a balance pipe.
