I'm working on a bit of a project that means I need to extend the front brake lines on my 1150. I can get hold of double banjo bolts but need two extra lengths of brake hose with M10 banjos at each end - 75mm from centre to centre. Has anyone got a recommendation for where I could get these made up?

Thanks :thumb2

+1 for Venhill. You can build what you need online as well. Very fast service and high quality parts.

Thanks for the suggestions, gents. I had Venhill in mind but they seemed quite expensive to buy the bits separately, to make up the required lengths, when I checked them on eBay. I'll give them a call instead.

Just reading your post it seems that you are going to extend existing lines. I would recommend replaceing entire length if possible. Jjh

Try Preston hydraulic and pneumatic school lane bamber bridge.

just look on ebay for secondhand s/s line's, with s/s banjo's, they are re-buildable, then all you have to buy is new compression olive's, it's what i do, work's out a lot cheaper than hel etc,

Sounds interesting. What have you got planned Paul - 28mm bar conversion maybe?

You need to think about clearance for the handguards too. Andy Malton used a double brake line setup on his first 1150SM - which I then owned for a short time before stupidly selling it:blast He'll be able to help you out:thumby:

Thanks Alf. Mine's an ABS model, so I won't be touching the handlebar end of things. I'm just interested in extending the lines after the return feed from the ABS modulator underneath the headstock.
I've acquired some nice Tokico 6-pots from a ZXRGSXRCBRRYZFturbonutterbastard thingy. All refurbed and ready to fit. I've designed an adapter to mount them to the GS forks so I just need to get someone to mill a few pieces of alloy and some slightly longer brake lines. It's the story of my life really; frustrated over that lack of an extra 4 inches... Combined with the larger full floating discs I've got, it should stop even better than it does already.
You really regret selling Andy's bike on, don't you..? :blast:green gri

great mind's,
i've just bought some too, tokico 6-potter's, only £80 off ebay, not that there's anything wrong with the std caliper's, just bought them for the look's, and i like messing about, i've some 10mm alloy plate i'm going to use for the caliper hanger's,

Mine only cost £30 but they needed tidying up. Fortunately I have a mate who loves doing them so they got refurbed for nowt.

The Tokicos I got have 90mm mounts so I mounted them using the bottom lug on the GS forks and rotated them so the edge of the pads line up with edge of the disc. This gave me the details needed to design a top mount. The offset needed was only 2mm towards the centre line of the wheel. Yours may be different as I use an R1100R front wheel with slightly bigger discs but it's worth checking.

paul, i've the same wheel and disc's, but have the GS disc's fitted at the moment, same pcd as the R disc's, will fit the R disc's when i get round to making the hanger's, any progress pic's of your caliper hanger's, ?

Just sketched at the moment, but I've been too busy to get anything more done about it...
