I bought an oem bracket with after market led spots (bought on here from a fellow tosser). I installed them myself it's relatively straight forward. Connecting them is a piggy back fuse under the front seat. The lights are always on and remain on for 30secs after you turn the ignition off.
Total cost £67 and worth every penny as they're really bright and most importantly other road users see you.

I had some of these on a Westfield. Easy to fit and very bright. Didn't make much difference to what you can see, but folk can certainly see you coming!!
An option that would appear to cover both see and be seen tasks would be the Denali D2. They have a switchable output where you wire into full beam to get full power. Half power with dip is pretty impressive too
I have the Denali mini's on my XR and they are great little lights, easy to install and only about £170 from R & G. I will be using them in the future and not the BMW ones which i have had before as 5 hundy is way too much!
