I recently fitted some Hella FF50 fogs on a MiGSel light bar toy R1200gs. Loved the extra fill in light but last night I realised without them I would currently be in hospital post crashing into a fallen tree. Came round a bend in the middle of the night and the fogs with their nice wide beam picked up something round the corner out of the dipped beam's throw. I braked hard and pulled up just short of a fallen tree across the road. Without the fogs I could well have picked up the tree too late. So if you're thinking of getting round to fitting some more lights just go for it. Mr wassall will sort you out with the necessary bits and there are some excellent online tutorials on the wiring required. And as a foot note it was probably my own fault for riding without being able to comfortably stop in the area I could see was clear...gotta love the IAM.

What's stating the obvious got to do with the IAM :nenau

So it's been proved beyond all reasonable doubt - having fogs lights ON at night saves lives. :thumb2

Being kinda dull it wasn't obvious to me! IAM is mostly about reinforcing common sense. However, you do need some in the first place...come on, I am the guy that needs to finish wiring up my fogs before realising my fuse power lead is an inch too short. Dammit

How's all this cross over to the 'works' machines George ;)

Glad you're OK :thumb

Are you sure?

Bearing in mind that a foglight provides a beam of less than 2 metres, I would ask you: Are you sure?

It is most unlikely that the foglights aided your seeing the fallen object.
Almost certainly, it was your dipped beam!
