I have HID on my Dips , Heads , And Aux lights .
I dont think i would do them all Again , I think it may well be overkill .
I am Constantly being "Flashed" one guy even Drove at me in Scotland ..

On the + side of things no-one has pulled out in front of me..Which
cant be bad , and was the main reason i got them to start with.

Maybe he knew you...:augie:D:D:D

IMHO the best to be seen is HID headlight and normal aux lights.
The HID catches the attention and the aux lights allow for very good distance perception by other road users.

lights

try a search for a guy called "How Much" on the site ,light bar and aux spots all wired ready to fit around the £80 mark not as bright as HID but not as expensive either .Still get comments about being seen though and look good.Made to fit straight on mines on an 1150.

I've done exactly the same Hid on main & dip & conventional aux lamps.

Bought all through this website:thumb

Went for quality & feedback rather than cheapest price butr very pleased with the results.

Les sorted out the hid's and Sgt Pepper the Hella FF5O's

Excellent at night :thumb2

Not been flashed too much either, but then only used the bike this week since fitting at the W/E

On my 1200GSA I have HiD on Dip beam and the Aux lights, with Std Halogen on High beam and twin FF50 spots.

On my K1100RS I have just the std halogen 55/80watt with a relay direct to the battery.

Both bikes have had their lights set up at a friendly MOT station. I never get flashed on the GSA, day or night, Aux lights on or off. I usually get flashed at least once on the K per trip if at night sometimes more, usually by truckers. Go figure.

You're spot on with the depth perception thingy - I can see quite clearly that you are closer in the second picture:pullface (OK it's Friday)

I have HID main beam, dipped light and fogs - the light output is fantastic, however, I wouldn't recommend you going for a HID mainbeam because it takes a number of seconds for the HID to warm up, this means that you lose the ability to flash someone else (ahem).

I'm actually thinking of changing my main beam back to a halogen bulb for this reason.

HTH

Think you should have gove to specsavers.. You may have noticed that in the second picture "I" had changed my bike from silver to red, changed my name to Kamakazi and lost 5 stone:aidan

Thats what I did too. I left the ballast in place on the bike though as a spare for the dip beam should it fail.

Arnt you very fancy. I removed the servo last week andthe bikefeels great. Not sure about the back end but the tickover when cold is great now the servo is gone. Lol:comfortP

As for the lights? Get them! Just turn them on with a bar or two on the rid. Just my opinion.

I went for the full HID setup and fitted a set o FF50 spots on a 1200 GSA. If I were to do it again I'd only HID the dipped beam and fit the FF50 spots. HIDs to the main beam and the aux fogs are of no benefit IMO

It looks like I will go for the FF50 lights and HID beams. What else will I need to fit these.
