Has anyone done a f/d bearing with total sucess? ie it lasting for a bit..:toungincheek

Which model is more prone to final drive bearing and paralever bearing failure, the R1100GS or the R1150GS?

Just wondering because they use different paralever arms.

Come to that, is the R1150GSA more prone to these failures than the R1150GS because it has more suspension travel?

I've changed several on different bike with no long term problems at all and can't see that suspension travel will affect the rear bearing:confused:

The bearings are exactly the same on the 1100 and 1150. not so sure about the GSA - but can't see why that should be any different.

Sorry, bit of a thread hijack really. You're quite right of course, paralever arm length and suspension travel should have no bearing, (pardon the pun!), on the rear bearing life.

My comments and question was really in regard to the paralever bearings and U/Js and how, if at all, these factors may affect it.

I should have posted a separate thread.:blast
