Hi folks I found my funduro ideal, and the best bike i've had, after a ride from England to Greece over the Swiss Alps. I like the simplicity, good looks, comfort and ease of maintainance. As good examples are hard to come by, I may be replacing it with the GS single that replaced it. How do they compare? I am intimidated somewhat with the expensive complications of fuel injection and ABS, but I suppose there is a gain in economy. How do they compare for reliability? Anything to look out for? Any ideas welcome.

GS is a bit more of a faff to work on!
Fuel inj motor a bit less snatchy at lower revs.
Common failure on the later bikes is the instruments,v.expensive(2000my on)
Take a good look at suspension linkages

Hello Tacho

You will probably do much better asking the same question on F650.co.uk forum http://www.f650.co.uk

I have recently moved from a 1996 Funduro to G650GS .... big improvement in so many ways inc 82 mpg (best) 77 mpg ( Average )

My! that is a big improvement over my 50 mpg. May be worth a closer look. Is yours a single or the later twin?

The G650GS is basically a F650GS and most parts & accessories will fit both

I think the F650GS dates from 2001 - 2009 and the G650GS from 2011 - 2016

There's an aprilia pegaso cube up for sale in the non GS section. 8500 miles. £1500. May be suitable if you were only looking for a refresh.
