Hi I am quite new to this site,
am looking at a 2002 Dakar 20K on clock £3400 full service history,
box's with it.

anything I should know? about the bike per say,
I have chosen this bike as i have ridden the F650GS last year & just loved it, I am itending to do 'winter hack' & camping out weekends, as well as planning a trip to the East, also I am 5ft5.

I have read something about single spark dule spark

anywhere i can d/l the manual for the 2002 modal

the f650.com faq has a lot of info and good dite.

maybe i am wrong but seems bit much for an 02 bike but if has boxes may be right price.

04+ had twin spark to solve some surging and stalling probs but not everyone had these probs anyway on the pre 04 bikes.

I doubt you'd notice the difference in single or twin spark and the price for a 2002 is on the high side.

I did wonder but with 20k on the clock it is not that much on the miles front?

Check the steering head bearings for any notchy feeling or unusual play, and the rear swing arm bearings can be stuffed even at that mileage. Oh - and unless your buying it from your mother make sure you get a check done on it. DAMHIK....

sorry DAMHIK? =

Way too much for a 2002 IMHO.

Mine is a 2001 bike with similar mileage. In standard form maybe worth £2k.

Mines probably worth £3500 but it has a TT upside down fork kit, Schalber swingarm, WP lengthened rear shock, TT ali panniers and Talon wheels laced with HD stainless Spokes. The extras on my bike would cost over 3k alone!!

I'd look elsewhere, you should be able to get a 2004 for that money.

i hadmy 05 up for similar cash so has to be too dear.

also the tenere would be betrewr deal as they great bike

I bought an '07 with 5K Km (basically like new with a one year guarantee from the garage) for 5.5K euro. Not sure what the exchange rate is, but your price does indeed sound a bit high.

Mine's a twin spark, no surging or stalling issues. 20K Km on it, no issues at all, runs like a tank.
