Hi,

just had my F650GS twin in for 20,000km service. Can anyone who has had this service done let me know the number of hours they were charged. I'm a little concerned that the dealer here in Abu Dhabi hasn't carried out whats prescribed by BMW. One example, the 20,000km service calls for the air filter cartridge to be replaced. The air filter hasn't even been looked at. No signs of any attempt to remove the filter cover. The service also calls for the valve clearance to be checked. I would assume that a new gasket would be required. Again that hasn't been charged for, so, I assume this hasn't been done. Any and all input would be much appreciated. By the way, BMW here in Abu Dhabi require 9 hours to fit and balance two tyres:blast Seems a little excessive to me!!

Hi Gordon I had valve clearance checked at 18K and the gasket cost was included. another tell tale was they changed the hose on the water pump (right hand side) so I was fairly confident the work was done.

Good luck with your quest

Thanks for the feed-back Steve.

I contacted BMW with my concerns. They assured me the valve clearance check was done and the air filter wasn't changed because they didn't have stock!!! They have agreed to send a mech to my place and fit a new filter free of charge today. One positive at least :clap. Do you know what bits have to be removed from the bike to do the valve check? I've been informed by BMW that there's only a 'cover' to be removed!! Thought there was a bit more to it than that :nenau.

Regards
