Hi
Fitted new seals, and only managed 2000 miles this time, both oil and coolant failed this time. I did use the old shaft because there was barely a mark on it.
On stripping its down I have noticed that there is a bit of play on the clutch cover, probably elongated where the shaft goes.
Anyone else noticed this with their clutch covers when fitting seals and waterpump. Read a few other post re-garding the possibility of a bronze bush, anybody try this with success.

Cheers

The shaft wears as well as the seals so needs to be replaced at the same time. The shaft/seals also need to be fitted with the correct grease.

Waterpump

Hi dansin

Thanks for that, got new waterpump kit and Dow Corning 111 grease, but still concerned about the shaft hole in the cover being oval.

Cheers amc

Had to change em on wifes 650 twice..so three shafts n seals from been built...in seven years and about 45k+ miles..
The last time I did it, the cover definitely had wear...Had she kept the bike I would have tried sourcing a replacement or getting a bush fitted..
