f800 gs coolant leak

hi guys, first post on the site. recently purchased a 4thousand mile 800 gs. awesome machine. totally love it after being only ever on jap bikes.
i have noticed a slight weep from the weep hole underneath the water pump in cylinder head. sometimes it weeps and sometimes it drips. i have looked on site for someone that has had similar problems but cant find any. was hoping for some info on this problem. cheers.

I had the same problem on mine. It's the seals in the water pump that has failed. Thats why its leaking. The whole pump has to be changed. I got mine for free as it was under warranty. Its sadly not an uncommon fault.

I know this might be a silly question...Are we talking about an 2008 > bike..
The 650 single twin spark has this known common problem.

were talking about a 2010 800 gs . twin cylinder engine

It affects all the bikes with 800 twin engines as far as I know as my old F800S leaked coolant from the pump seal at around 3500 miles.

Mine had gone very short, only 5000-6000 km.
2009 model.
