Hi Frankh,

I use the TT high touring its getting more comfortable every time I ride!

for anything more than a couple of hours I put on my airhawk II , and when I tour this summer I will cover that with a fleece of some sort.....

It suits me, some are happy with the standard!

there as a thread on seats... if you look lotts of talky talk on it :thumb2

I've got the new BMW comfort seat and is much much better for me then the standard, everytime i go out on it now it gets a little better! Think it cost me about £220
I can also say it gives my girlfriend a little less to moan about aswell ;)

I've had a Comfort Seat for just over two weeks, it's a big improvement, however, I've only used it for commuting and shortish rides:)
I'll be putting it to the test this weekend, with a 600 mile round trip.
I'll let you know how it goes, next week:thumb2

I use the TT Breathable seat on mine. It's much much better than the standard BMW item, but still not exactly what I would call comfortable on it's own.

On a recent trip to Ireland I covered the seat with a sheepskin and that seems to have done the job - I managed close to 400 miles on it on the day I rode home. I had previously tried the same sheepskin on the standard BMW seat and it was no where near as comfortable so it's definitely the combination of TT seat and sheepskin that seems to work :thumb

I've had the comfort seat since last November, and as the label says, it's much more comfortable than standard. Takes some getting used to though, as you can't slide back on the seat. The pillion seems to get a much better deal too.

It's styled a bit like the 1200 seat, whereby the rider has a sculpted seat with a curved surround behind them, although it's also slightly higher than stock. The pillion perch is an inch or so higher than the rider.

part number.?

Does anyone have the part number for the comfort seat? The local dealership here cant seem to find them.....barstards!! (currently working for HMG in USA)

Comfy?

Stop! spending money on expensive seats, if you are really going to do some serious miles in a day get down to your local gardening centre and buy an inner tube for a sit on lawn mower, stick a strap on it so it can be looped over your seat and put just the meerest wif of air in it, honestly practically nothing and off you go.

We did 2800 in 8 days recently with days of 650 and even 900 miles in 22 hours going down to Morocco and it was great.

Yes i looked a twit but i didnt walk funny when i got off the bike!

Lost mine riding back through Spain and was gutted. Now working on a "version 2" for our trip to Croatia in May.:thumb

I was thinking of getting some heavy duty condoms and asking some clown to make me something special, you know kinda like a balloon Animal.

weave me a seat :nenau

Just ordered a Sargent Seat from NippyNormans, expensive but I had one on an RT and it was great, hope it is likewise on the 800.

Just picked up my 800gs with new comfort seat. Very nice now and will for sure be nicer once it has bedded in. I like the way it keeps you in the right position with no sliding around. Time will tell but initial impressions good. Is it worth £225? Are any of the bits we buy worth the money......? Some people are making a lot of dosh out of us two wheelers.:(

Update on the Comfort Seat...

Last week I completed a 740 mile ride over 2 days and this morning I completed the National Road Rally, 650 miles over 18 hours and my undercarriage is very happy :thumb

It does what it says, on the tin...:beerjug:

Good to know Thomo. I've had mine for about 8 months now, but haven't done any long rides yet. I'm off to Spain and France in 2 weeks, and can leave with confidence.

The comfort seat & hyperpro spring kit, are the best money I've spent on the GS, both have transformed the bike, into a road friendly ride...

Enjoy Spain & France, we're off to France & Switzerland, & ???, on my mates summer mystery tour, in three week's... can' wait for it:cool:
