Was speeking to a friend, who recently wanted to buy a new 800GS. But says they told him that they are no longer available. I don't know where he went to be given this advice and it is possible he miss understood :nenau

What's the word in the jungle??

Val.

Why would they do that with no other model to take its' place - yet ? :nenau I think it unlikely myself but as I already have one, I'm not worried !

How strange

Val H. Who was this information gained from??? My cynical mind wonders whether it was a BMW dealer trying to convince a customer he wanted something else. When in fact it would seem your friend knew exactly what he wanted.

It just might be that there is a "new" F800GS waiting to be launched into the biking world :pullface
Stealer nearest to me mentioned a couple of weeks ago that now would be a good time to "move on" my "used" F800GS! He wouldn't get specific, and he may well of been trying the old "buy wot you see, cos soon they'll all be gone" routine, but I'm not looking for a new machine, as he was fully aware of, so any updated machine is already out of my purchasing reach.

Just wot he said and I heard

Rumour mill now started and getting a good head of steam :D

Seems hard to believe, but I have mine too, so I'm happy.

they're just out of stock. you can probably sign up now for a 2013 for delivery in august-september. And if so it will be one of the special editions model, and it will be exactly the same as the 2012. for the next years models, there will not be any changes besides cosmetics as there will be a new 1200GS. (they will not release a new 800GS in the same segment, the same time of year. MAYBE you will find major changes for the 800 next autumn, but i don't believe that either. 2015 seems more likely than 2013 if you ask me.

Perhaps the F800 is just a victim of its' own success ? :nenau If you make the near perfect bike then there's no surprise it'll be popular ! :D

Although I don't see many in my part of the world. Certainly the 1200 is more common ......... :augie

The salesmen at the BMW dealer, Rainbow in Rotherham in general chat told me a week or so ago that they had sold all their 2012 F800GS'ers.
No need to tell me that as we had already bought and collected the bikes a fews earlier.

Johns F800GS Trophy was from Rainbow, thats where info came from. Was told by guy on BMW stand at BMF that there is a new F650 twin in the pipeline for 2013.

BMW could also do with putting the XChallenge's and possibly XCountry's back into the range, never going to sell bucket loads , but I would have thought there would be a steady stream of buyers. Just a thought.

It will be good to see what a new F650 will look like, a Dakar style one would be nice. Anyway be a long time before I'm in the market for a new bike, a F800GS to wear out first.
:)

New 800 gs

When my bike was in the dealers last week, they gave me the 800 as a courtesy bike. When I returned it and told him that was the worst bike I've ever ridden, he did say he will not invite me to the launch of the new one.;)

Bought one last month

After the fiasco of 2 warm start 650GSs I finally bought an F800GS last month so I would guess they are still selling them.:)
