F800GS Rebound Damping on rear shock

I am very happy with my sping pre-load setting but am looking for some pointers on the rebound damping screw setting. With only about 4 full turns the range of adjustment is not huge but a 80mph+ the rear tyre quite often skips over bumps (tarmac road) if they are close together. To minimise this, do I screw it in or out? My logic says that the wheel needs to be pushed back down faster to ride through the bumps. Any advice most welcome.
