I have recently added the 20mm TT risers, not because I am tall (5' 10), but because I like to have the bars a bit higher when I'm standing on the pegs so I dont; have to stoop so much. I also like the bars a little closer to me to stop my shoulders aching on long trips.

The TT one's are ok but I still feel I am reaching forward to the bars more than I would like.

Has anybody fitted the Rox risers that are available? These look like they can be rolled forward / back to suit your reach which would be great. Bit concerned though that bringing them too close might affect handling or require the brake line to be extended?

Any opinions?

I've got them. They appeared less fiddly to install than the TT ones.

You can angle them a bit but you are limited by the ignition key plastic so not much. They also push your cables to their safe (IMVHO) limits and even if you could angle them more towards you, you might not want to with out buying slightly longer cables.

All in all though, I'm happy with them.

Like yourself, I'm not tall either but still found that with a lowered seat (which puts you a little further back from the handlebars ) and footpeg rubbers removed , them made how far forward i needed to lean a whole lot less. I can ride with my legs gripping the bike and very little weight on my hands for the straight bits of road.

Bought mine on ebay from the States and they cost about half of the ones you buy over here.

Yeah, I've got them too and they're great. Check my post history for my views, but here's some pics:

No need to change lines if you get the 1.75" Rox Risers. Depending on how much pitch you want, you might move the break in 0.5 a cm. Have a think about getting those adjustable bolts to alter the pitch of the bars when off road. Wunderlich do them for about about £30 but you can get them from Berger tools for about £3 (see my other posts).

Have been using the Rox risers for a couple of months now and they are superb. Make sure you get the f800 specific ones - you will still need to move the brake lever assembly in slightly as per rox instructions. I also found it necessary to move the clutch lever assembly slightly inboard - on full left hand lock the risers were causing a strain on the clutch cable. I'm the same height as you and the bike is far more comfortable on the pegs and also more comfortable on the road as the risers bring the bars back nicely. I also have wunderlich lower Pegs. The combination makes the bike miles better off road.

Without sounding stupid, with the Rox risers in place, how do you tighten the original handlebar clamp bolts, now holding the risers?

There's usually room to properly tighten the front bolts. In my case I leave the front bolts engaged but loose. With the risers forward I then tighten the rear bolts. I then position the risers backwards at the required pitch and properly tighten down the front bolts.

Bought the Rox risers and fitted them instead of the Touratech one's.

Great improvement, much more comfortable with them, taking away the feeling of 'reaching' for the bars. Brake line is tight on full lock, but ok.

Would definitely recommend highly to anyone considering risers for their F800GS.
