2009 F800 I want to update the suspension on the Wife's bike, I do not like the way the front dives under braking. She mainly rides road, very little off road, and mainly touring, with some weekend dashes here and there..

It has the original BMW springs in the front and rear shock.

I was in conversation with an ex F800GS rider and he recommended the Hyper pro progressive springs on the front. (Did not comment further on the rear).

I am tempted with Hyper Pro, but was also looking at the Ohlins basic (complete, springs and shock)

Suggestions from those who have done something similar please. :rob

You might want to consider Wilbers. At Mickeys recommendation I swapped the standard suspension set up on my old 800. At around 36k. Big improvement. Probably a bit cheaper than Ohlins?

I have used MCT Suspension at Stowmarket on both my r1200r and my Gs 650 twin.

Very pleased with the results having used Wilbers and Ohlins.

They will work with the budget you have to come up with a solution to suit you including improving the standard shocks and forks.

Friendly and professional.

I have no links with them except being a satisfied customer.

Regards

James

I fitted the hyperpro front springs for the same reason as you state and they're a big improvement well worth the investment & an afternoons work :thumby:

I have spoken with Darren, he does not recommend the Hyperpros said he has removed alot of them. Suggested the current springs with a thicker oil.. mulling it over..

On topic I hope, my bmw dealer has advised me today that bmw service now replace with a 10wt front fork oil instead of the old 7.5wt. Would be fine if I hadn't upgraded to Ohlins springs and I weight more than 85kg. Can anyone confirm this is the case with current bmw procedure? I have a conciderable pogo stick effect i'm not enjoying. Given that a wt marked on a container have little comparison between manufacturers I'm worried that I might be guessing. Cost of labour on a oil change worth a bit of research. 7.5 with ohlins good for my weight, 10 noticible not on road.
Thanks in advance.
