F800GS winter restoration project

I saw a set of panels in my mates bodyshop from a yellow 800. They were pretty knocked about, so I just threw them in the bin. The owner would be better off buying a new set anyway.

:duck:

gunz...now i'm not the sharpest tool in the box, so explain why you'd want moulds done? is it in case you trash your already existing panels, or you simply want carbon fibre panels?

mine are properly bust up. where the screen attaches has been ripped clean out. having said that, the bodyshop are doing a job on them as we speak, so i don't think i need any 'moulds'. thanks for the offer though.

while i'm here, i wonder could anyone tell me if there are any crash bars that don't use the 2 cast holes at the bottom of the engine on the right hand side? my adv-spec bars have ripped those cast insert holes apart and so they can't be used again. i'm actually debating whether i want engine bars at all again, as they've done more damage than they're worth, and they add unnecessary weight in my view, but i'm just curious if there are alternatives around should I choose to? no givi's please...been there, done that.

Yeah its to make pre-preg carbon moulds. If l can make a good job of them l might try making a few more sets for those bling uber-seekers.

Just me then] :hide

Your images don't do the damage justice, any closer/back at workshop? Gore hunting here, need my fix

i don't have the bike here now, so sadly i can't provide any photos...you sicko ;)

i'm cutting back on bling. i want to make the bike as stripped down and light as possible, with only the bare essentials. autocom will be on for sale, HID's will be on, and whatever else is adding weight with no certain benefits.

Like a phoenix from the ashes

Rebuild finished on Friday, followed by it's first run since it returned from the trip in August last year. Having chucked all the non-essentials, it's certainly lighter and the new suspension makes it feel like a different bike altogether. So, where to next? :drool

apparently you're in the queue, behind one of their husband's, Colebatch and a couple of others on the site. If it wasn't for the fact that the mods insist on fixed prices for goods on sale, I'd put the remaining one on for auction :cool

Like your site especially your sisters don't suppose you could fix me up?
