Hi all, newcomer to the forum and I'm looking for a bit of advice. I bought a F850gs Sport (2019) with less than 3k on the clock. I've never ridden an adventure type of bike before. The first time I had it out I tried the brakes in an empty car park. The initial grab is great but it dives a lot. I know it's got extra travel etc but I could do with less dive under braking. Anyone have any suggestions? New progressive springs maybe? Thanks in advance.

I recently sold my 850, having ridden it across Africa and the length of South America. Decent bike for the job - BUT only if you change the suspension. The rear isn't great but the forks are truly awful because they're so soft. Chaning the lot makes it into a genuinely capable dual-sport/adventure bike but if you only do one thing, sort the front.

Most bods will tell you that the best and simplest solution is the Tractive/Touratech closed cartridge. It sits in the right fork leg and offers compression and rebound adjustment, together with adjustable pre-load. It's a game changer.

When I sold my bike, I was canny enough to remove both the fork cartridge and the matching Tractive rear shock unit (ESA) - which is also a massive improvement over the original kit.

If you're remotely interested PM me. I have them for sale and would consider splitting if the price was right.

I have fitted Hyperpro progressive springs and 15w oil - make all the difference and doesn’t cost a fortune. Get them from Motorworks.

I have seen them, was considering getting the lowering set (front and rear). I'm 5ft 8 and very much on my toes when stopped.
