Just wanted to put the feelers out to see if anyone has converted a low factory built R1250GSA to a standard version?

I appreciate it would require new shocks front and rear, side stand and main stand and probably a 911 to tell the bike its now a standard height bike not a low one.

Having spoken to a couple of dealers they have said it can't be done, then one of them said well maybe it could be but it would cost a fair bit etc etc, :nenau

has anyone actually done it and/or is it possible?

cheers
Tim

Possible? yes. Expensive? yes.

Best/cheaper to buy a standard chassis in the first instance.

have been offered a low bike for a very good price and have about 2-3K left over to convert it.

So I'm interested to know if anyone has done it before and if they encountered any issues doing it.

I would save my money and she’ll out for a standard bike.

You will need, GSA standard Shocks, and standard GSA centre stand and side stand, thats it.
Only difference between the standard GSA and the low version is that the low version uses GS Shocks, side stand centre stand.
With the £3k you could fit the Touratech tractive suspension, now that would be nice!

Thanks gadget. Touratech suspension was on the shopping list, I mean why not go over the top lol

Why do it at all? I bought the factory lowered GS and that is lower than your GSA and found no downsides, and the advantages of a lower centre of gravity and easier handling when stopping with luggage and pillion. Not saying this is true in your case but with some people it does seem to be a case of macho bragging rights to have the tallest possible bike. Just remember that the extra couple of inches don't get added to your manhood! :D
