Failing ESA shock?

Does anyone know what the early signs of ESA shock failure are on a GSA 1200? The back shock (OEM) seems to be leaking some oil around the shaft but the bike still handles well and the ESA seems to be functioning. Should I be concerned? The bike is a 2008 model with 13000kms on the odometer, so I would be disappointed if it has failed....

Leaking shocks never get better. Take it to your BMW dealers ASAP. The longer you wait, the older the bike will be and the less willing BMW will be to contribute to the (substantial) repair bill.

If the bike has a full BMW service history or you have an extended BMW warranty, given the low mileage you should expect the repair costs to be met in full by BMW.
