Well as promised ive finished the SE "copy" project. Im only new to both to GS owning and this brilliant forum. I would like to thank 2 Tossers for their help.
firstly VERN for actually giving me all the stuff required to change from standard seat and rack to adventure spec. Gave me everything i needed and posted it to me even without the swap gear i am to send him.
Ans secondly LES WASSELL. He got a freind of his to recover the seat and he did a sterling job, highly recommended. THANKS GUYS>

This is how i bought her a 2000 1150 with 40,000 miles.

Getting things fitted was real easy just take off old stuff and replace with the new. keeping you lock internals to use your key to open is vital!

Seat arrived and im over the moon. Fantastic finish and fit. I got 40mm removed from the foam to lower the seat at the riders end only. Glad i did its higher than the standard seat. Worth considering if you are going to fit an adv seat to your GS.

I know i didnt paint the rack silver as it should be. I had it painted and then seen a photo of Trippy's SE and mailed him to ask if it was indeed silver and sods law and poor research it was :blast

But i said feck it looks good to me so its staying white.
I painted the plastic guard (under the rack) satin black at it looks real tidy.

So guys whats the verdict? let the mud slinging commence.:mcgun

It's not an SE but hey I like it. Paint is too glossy, but I prefer the white rear rack.

Looks good, congrats :clap:clap:clap

I know Flip. I did it matt and it just looksed unfinished and well, like primer. So gave it a couple of coats of clear and hey presto! glossy white. I prefere it though.
Must agree the racke looks class!
Thanks for the comments.

You go away for a couple of weeks and the whole place falls apart. What is this site coming to? Sorry Falcoron, but regardless of the subservient ramblings of the others, I for one have to be honest here.....................

For pity sake will you paint that bleedin' shed!?!

:D

Nice looking bike, shame about the stains on the drive. Only joking it looks very good
