Farkle development including the front crud

So here we have a special one off application that Mark 'produced' for Sue and mine G650Xcountry's :thumb

We had fitted Hepco and Becker pannier frames to the 650's for nothing more than keeping the throw over panniers away from the exhaust and swing arms. With a planned camping trip to Norway, and later in the year to the OktoberFeast in Co Down, we needed the luggage space. I'm OK with the 800 and the alloy panniers for now, but I envisage a long term relationship with the 650 and one day will be using it for camping :camping

But for now Sue has to carry her own evening gowns, tiaras, and the ubiquitous five pairs of high heels

By the time we had squared up the H&B frames, made them point in the right direction, look OK, no other rear racks would fit ...

Enter stage right a piece of paper template and a cup of coffee with Mark Hooton ...

Sue's 650 with the H&B frames and no rack ...

Yes ... we'll need these dear :comfort

Add Mark's 'work of art' ... a masterpiece in working with metal :thumb2

Sue (Gracie on here) is delighted :D

Mind you ... she did help me service her 'bike ready for Norway :kissy2

Thank you Mark for your work, you performed wonders from a piece of paper cut roughly to shape ... bloody marvellous :thumby:

:beerjug:

I wouldn't say a masterpiece

Pal I wouldn't say a masterpiece but I would say it looks better in the flesh!

Anyway dead chuffed I am that you and your good lady are happy with them, they certainly look fit for purpose.

I suspect no waggling about under load eh?

I am scared of fitting it myself, that is why I don't already have one.

Pal skido6 (aka Steve) has actually got a pair of panniers he can sell me so I'm taking him up on the kind offer (he's got another pair in the pipeline I think) so I'm now sorted - this is a public acknowledgement of your kindness by way of lending me yours - the offer of a free fitted crud catcher is still there when you wish to collect otherwise I am happy to return them to you!

You about in the morning?

I fancy trying the A1133 in the other direction. :D

Yes mate, I'm actually gonna be at my house for 10pm for Steve when he drops off the panniers I have bought off him - so if you can make it for then there will also an egg roll thrown in for good measure too!

If you are going to try that alternative route from Lincoln to sunny to avoid the A15 then take a look at a map mate, picking up the alternative route from Lincoln is easy to miss!

Mark,

Well I reckon that the crud catcher has made the bike go faster!

Thanks very much for fitting it - I don't have your wonderfully tidy collection of pristine tools and I wouldn't know how to use a torque wrench!

I am glad that I was able to help out a bit, nice to see that some parts of the GS community is still alive and kicking.

I will be up again with a selection of cheeky reds for you!

I am going to see if I can find my tent, although I think it doubtful that anyone could convince me that camping is preferable to a nice hotel with a steaming hot shower after a day riding.

Thanks again, not only are your products first class but you are a top bloke too.

pleased ya found it a positive time mate. btw, don`t go out and buy yourself a tent - borrow my spare one, see how you get on and either buy one yourself or simply return mine!

They have good shower blocks on frog municipal camp sites so don`t be a Jessica Wendy Bloody Pants :D

And no, there's no need for any further wine.

At the moment......................

Take care mate and thanks for the kindness.

But do you know how to put the bugger up?

I have a man who does that sort of thing for me!

Enjoy the weekend in Devon, I was thinking of going down but saw, last night, that it was sold out!

Ha funny, we would have to put the thing together for Martin lol (he`s been spoilt ).

Devon was fantastic - only 2 LC`s there and you can image the ribbing I got off all the beer bellies who ride the old airheads - but all in good fun and I was made very very welcome as was indeed everyone else who is not of the airhead fraternity. I also met `proff` and a guy who has ridden round the world (on an airhead) - I`m not the most gregarious of geezers but I was made very welcome indeed - they are a great bunch.

It was a great weekend, Sid was a great guy and along with his good lady made sure everyone went without nothing.

I went off riding on Saturday and had a great day - approx. 850 miles over the weekend - it was brill.

The geezer next to me snored more than me and had an attack of Tourette's in the middle of the night which was a funny as fuck but once again - I wasn`t bothered at all with being woken up and he was a great guy too - despite people describing him as somewhat `better for knowing`.

Long 9 hours on a bike though but totally enjoyable

Hi Mark,

Great to hear you've had a great weekend :thumb2.....I was thinking of coming up to see you on Saturday until I got wind of you going to Devon....one day we'll have to get those planets to be in line! :D

Sounds like you had the weekend you needed after recent 'events' though..some good riding, some good company, and getting to see that the majority of Gs'ers are great blokes...and appreciate a great bloke in their presence :thumb2

Ah, those damn planets! They will line up for sure sometime soon and yes, thanks pal, the brief escape from it all did me the world of good.

It was also good to revive my faith in humanity.

Made 2 new friends who popped up to see me (actually to help me out) and that was good

Ride safe, hope to see ya soon.
