Farkle development including the front crud

Benhur has allowed me to publish this, I`m pleased he has as it represents possibly the best I can do - transfer this capability onto our beloved bikes and I hope to be able to do a decent job.

As I eluded to, its got nothing to do with the LC, rather a job commissioned by a new found friend and has been done from a simple `paper` drawing.

It might not look as intricate as the rad covers but not being the sharpest pencil in the case I can assure everyone that to get the absolute accuracy to within 0.01mm (otherwise it didn`t look right to the eye) I had to spend considerable time doing it. Also and with the control needed for such fine detail my older laser profiler (albeit one of the best) would have simply obliterated the fine detail - I had to use the new Trumpf to be able to do this with its amazing control of a laser beam.

If only I was brighter I could have done it in half the time and spent the rest of the time drinking...................:bounce1

Anyway my thanks to benhur for lowing me to `show off` my work - I`m proud of it and I hope I am allowed this small indulgence :roll

And btw what's the Persian route?

And btw I`ve only just started the air intake guards (but don't tell nuts)

Wow, that is intricate. I was only half joking about having the one world one GS logo on the deflector, but seeing this, I think you should do it.:D

Well, I think we will all look forward to the said image of your North of the Border ass on the forum so we can see the tattoo :D

I suppose the question now Mark is how did you take the pattern off his arse??!!

ha ha ha ha not that I`ve taken any patterns of anyone's ass (or am likely to) but I guess if I had to then tracing paper, a gas mask, a large dollop of bravado and a very large tot of whiskey would be called for :D

Having had the privilege of spending several years (in a previous life) in a regiment manned from the Strathclyde area I know that North of the border brethren are not called `hairy assed jocks` for nothing :D

And of course I am only joking and no unintentional disrespect is intended :rob

Have to say the intricacy of the design is incredible. That some piece of kit you have there.

Pillion seat plate

If I get chance I`ll be posting images of the prototype rear seat luggage plate tmoz...............

My apologies for the delay, I`ve been preoccupied with a heavy job, and thanks to the fellow tossers for bearing with me.

If I only didn`t have a day job, family, bikes to ride, drink problem...............:blast

Ha ;)

Your rear rack plates for the G650Xcountry worked a treat Mark :thumb

Never budged, did the job just fine. You can just see the rear end of it here on Sue's bike. 4,000 miles round Norway, some rough roads, some no roads :thumby:

Wow awesome :bow:bow:bow you get up to things I can only dream about - I really hope you had a great, fantastic and safe adventure. And btw nearly everyone I meet knows you :bow

Anyway am pleased the rack worked, would have been gutted if it let you down. And the dog remains ever thankful to her 'uncle Micky' for the tenners worth of good British chicken :clap

Btw had stainey over last week (horn fit to a K1600)- another person who knows you well!

Well, it took me well over 10 years before I got another pooch - it can be too saddening to lose a loyal friend.

But onto cheerier things and yes I feel she would certainly love to stay at Uncle Micky`s, thank you!

Yeo, stainy was very helpful and did a very good job of helping me end up with a handful of fasteners AFTER we had put his bike back together :D

1st prototype for the pillion seat rack/plate

Well here it is - the first off for the pillion seat rack/plate.

The madness behind this one was that on my 2006 GS when you took the pillion seat off the `plate` underneath, albeit not perfect, could still take a good `load` (oooerrr missus :D)

The latest has had a redesign and BMW has made a little `cubby hole` for stuff as follows:

But as far as taking a load (oooerr missus :D) its as much use as me in a staying sober competition.

So, and because a few lads have asked me for one, I made this:

And it fits on like this:

What do you think guys? Its made to protect the `soft underbelly` and be a much stable platform for strapping stuff to. It currently fastens on using 4 existing fastener points, I would like to make it `clip on clip off` but the rear locating points just seem too difficult to make a cost effective assembly for at this time.
