Farkle future is bright. SUPERBRIGHT LED spotlights, CREE 10w LEDs & SuperMOFO HIDs
Ok, sit back and get ready for a read.....this may take me some time to do, but I promise it'll be worth it !
(If you like lights and farkles, you may want to have a box of kleenex ready as well
)
As a lot of people know, I'm working as a business/development manager for a long established 4x4 company, JA4x4.
We have a very close relationship with Durite, one of (if not THE) biggest manufacturers and importers of high quality automotive , agricultural and marine electronics.
(We in fact build vehicles for the owners)
Anyway, to cut a long story short, having seen a lot of 'well I could maybe import these if there's enough interest' and a lot of other, really overpriced kit out there for sale, the same kit that we fit to Landrovers and some extreme off-road vehicles, we've done some work and have come up with some options which may well suit a lot of GSers, as well as any other off-road biker.
I didn't wash my bike before I fitted all these lights to it today, sorry

I also didn't 'finish off' the full install as I'd normally do, so the eagle eyed or picky amongst you may well see bolt threads that would otherwise have been trimmed and the odd bit of wiring that wasn't tidies up.(especially with the 'BigMofoHids')
We also haven't gone down the route of showing photos of a pitch black space with these lights shining out in it.....those can be rather misleading (let's face it, with the correct exposure setting, a couple of candles could be made to look light spotlights
)
1) Single Superbright Gen3 LED Auxiliary lamp
Small but powerful- 5W Superbright LED (Brighter than the average car headlamp, equivalent to approx 50w Halogen) but tiny and lightweight.......The beam pattern is ideal for a marker/flood light rather than a long distance spot beam.
Extremely low current draw, 0.3 amp at 12 volt dc. (means there would be no problem running several, PLUS heated grips and clothing etc)
Black powder coated die cast aluminium case- no cheap plastic mouldings here, these lights are solid !
Stainless steel adjustable bracket and 300mm flying leads. The lamp can be linked with additional units. (I haven't tried that, but the casing is designed so you can latch several together)
Protected to IP 67 (Totally dustproof and can be immersed in water up to 1m deep)
L 52 x W 52 x H 72mm. (Height obviously includes bracket)
As above, these are supplied with 30cm flying leads so there's no mucking about opening them up and connecting spade connectors to things inside (been there, done that, never again
)
The current draw on these lights is tiny......less than 1/3rd of an amp at 12v DC, but we would recommend wiring them to the battery directly via an ignition switched relay for 1200/canbus bikes. (Fuse panels, switches and relays can bve supplied at extra charge if you need them...please call us for details)
For 11xx models or any other non-canbus bike, the current is small enough to be piggy backed onto other lights, but legally, I believe they should be capable of being switched on and off independently, so you may want to run them through a switch and/or an ignition supplied relay.
SUPPLIED AT £110 a PAIR, POSTED Mainland UK, please call us or PM me for Ireland/Overseas postage)

2) Twin Superbright LED lamp
These are my favourites I think, for price and quality as a package
And with the previous lamps as well......
Small and very neat, but still rather bright!! (equivalent to 40w Halogen)
Twin 3 watt 12/24 volt 3rd Gen LED
Beam pattern long flood.....half way between a spot light and a short throw fog lamp.
Low current draw, 0.9 amp at 12 volt dc.
Polymer housing, supplied with stainless steel adjustable bracket
2m flying lead.
Protected to IP66.
(Completely dustproof, Protected against low pressure jets of water, limited ingress permitted (e.g. ship deck)
Or put another way, perfect for a bike
L 93 x W 56 x H 81mm.
Supplied and POSTED to you in mainland UK for £85 a PAIR
(again, Ireland and European postage may be more, please get in touch)
Waterproof Switches, additional fuse boxes for canbus bikes, relays and full wiring kit can be supplied at extra cost)

3) Cree stackable 10w Hyperbrights
As used on genuine PD bikes
3 beam patterns will be available, with interchangeable lenses to switch between them.....Right now, we only have the flood version in stock for immediate delivery.

I'm not going to post the videos that Adventure spec went to Morocco to make in order to show off these lights, or the ones that Twisted Throttle made, but go look at them
Super powerful but tiny 10 watt 12/48 volt 3rd generation LED
Equivalent to 100 watt halogen bulb output.
Low current draw, 0.75 amp at 12 volt dc.
So use with heated clothing, grips etc etc, or ideal for airheads with limited power generation capabilities)
Black powder coated die cast aluminium case
(these feel solid in the hand, like you could really lump someone with it....)
Polycarbonate lens (almost unbreakable)
Stainless steel adjustable bracket and sealed
connector socket/plug.
The lamp can be linked with
additional units, using supplied powder coated aluminium connection block......
Protected to IP 68
(totally dustproof, Protected against prolonged effects of immersion under pressure.)
L 52 x W 52 x W 80mm. (or 52 mm square without bracket)

If you phone me up in the morning and say that you want 6 of everything, you'll have them all on your doorstep within 24 hours.(unless I'm on a tea break, in which case it could be 48 hours max)
