fast idle lever

Out on Saturday 7am, very cold. Going through a village, I pulled on the fast idle, which held the speed about 30mph. That was so I could put my frozen finger ends on the cylinder.
Is that ok or is it a no to use the fast idle on a warmish engine?
I do have heated grips which were on the high setting.

Don't worry about it.

It's just the same as pulling a choke open on a bike with carb's to allow you ride in third gear, with no hands, and wave to the girls.

Some of them act slow. Despite new cables. It's cruise control.

It's just the same as pulling a choke open on a bike with carb's to allow you ride in third gear, with no hands, and wave to the girls.

It might have the same effect but it is really only a fast idle lever so its better than a choke as it does nothing to the mixture strength

24v Landies had a fast throttle lever to charge radio batteries when static. The engine didn't blow up on them.

I digress.

It does exactly the same thing as cracking the twistgrip open a little, so harmless.

had the cables changed on mine years ago, made no difference
