Hi,

yesterday fitted all 4 new throttle cables to my 2001 1150GS. Old cables seemed to have stretched and after TB balance I had no fast idle.
So changed the cables but STILL NO fast idle. I took the splitter box out 3 times to check that everything is in order.
Now the main throttle cable is totally loose and fast idle cable is stretched all the way but still pulling the lever only takes out that 2mm looseness from the shorter cables.

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

Too much slack in the cables from the splitter box to the throttle bodies, the lever only pulls the throttle cables a couple of mm, so :thumba couple of mm slack and you have no fast idle, slack is only supposed to be in the order of 0.5mm

Read any workshop manual.

Cable adjustment points at throttle twist grip end and at the fast idle lever end .

Plus you can't have too much slack in the throttle cable adjustment at the throttle bodies otherwise you'll have no adjustment at the fast idle.

Thank you for your wisdom. I set the slack of the adjusting screws at TBs to 1mm. That helped.
Now I need to figure out why my TPS is showing over 4 V.
