Have just fitted the Fastway Evolution II F3 footpegs to my R1200GS and am very impressed with them. At 2.5 inches wide (fore-&-aft) they are about 60% wider than the standard pegs making them much more comfortable on long rides, and way superior when standing up. A possible disadvantage is that they are lower than standard but I haven’t scraped them yet, whereas I occasionally scraped the standard pegs on the R1150GS so who knows what the future holds. I didn’t measure the difference in clearance of the bottom of the peg, I know I should have, but the top of the Fastway peg (no rubber insert) is about 1” lower than the top of the standard peg with rubber insert, so you have about 1” extra legroom.
There is a slight glitch in fitting the left peg – you can’t remove the retaining pin of the footpeg without first removing the gear change lever, and you can’t remove that without a Torque (star head) socket, which of course most of us don’t have until BMW started using them on the R1200GS. Other than that, fitment is simple.
I have also fitted them to my F650 Dakar, they are that good in my opinion (the pegs that is).
They are not cheap, about $165 in Australian Dollars and $110 is the US, but worth it for the added stability and control when standing, and extra support and comfort when touring. It would be easy to fabricate some rubber inserts if you didn’t need the extra grip of the cleats.
