I've fitted a set of Fastway pegs and I'm struggling with the small maggot screws as my feet are sticking to the pedals, does anyone have a recommendation fo removing some of the screws, which ones and how many? Or Is it just a case of getting used to them?

hi silverlining
my pegs were bought off this forum
they have bmw rubber footpeg inserts that work well

Your feet are SUPPOSED to grip better on them....that's pretty much the whole idea.

Are you wearing soft touring boots whilst on them?

MX boots or similar have harder compounds in the sole, so you get the grip without embedding the rests into the rubber too much......I suspect that's where your problem may lie :)

Do they screw in deeper, thus reducing the roughness.
Mine also catch me out on occasion with touring boots, my offroad boots are fine.
I keep on meaning to have a look, but im a lazy twat.

Thank you, that could well be it. I bought them to have more grip getting on the bike as I often use the pegs when the bike is loaded up. I do use sidi couriers and an old pair of Lowa boots so I guess it's a case of trying to take a few screws out to reduce the grip. I was hoping someone here had a good idea for tweaking them.

Thinking outside the box then......In your shoes (pardon the almost pun) I'd probably try painting the tops of the studs with clear nail varnish or similar to take the edge off them.....you could of course round them with a file, but that's irreversible.

I think I'll try and find some small nuts to thread onto each screw. that should reduce the sticking problem without losing all grip the grip. Now where do I find some tiny nuts? (other than next to my tiny knob!!!)

What you need to look for are called 'Machine nuts'

No idea what size you need, but you will be able to get a box with a selection in pretty easily

Fastway were sold with two lengths of grub screws, perhaps you have the longer ones.

Your options:

Fuckin live with it
Sell them

FFS:D

I have now added M5 Caphead Nuts ontop of the screws and this works a treat, you still get the grip but without the sticking:
