Fastway footpegs dimensions

Any 1150GS owners out there with Fastway Footpegs? Can you measure the distance between the front of the peg and the back of the gear-shift and back of the brake pedal?

Having large feet I want to be sure that the peg to gear-shift/brake pedal distance is no shorter with the Fastway peg when compared with the standard peg. Or at least be able to make an informed purchase.

And how much lower are the Fastways when compared with the height of the original pegs?


I've just measured the distance between the front edge of the standard peg and the back edge of the gear lever. It's 130mm.

Losing 30mm of space when I already scrabble to get my toe under the gear lever on occasion seems a little risky.

I wear a size 12 boot!


Does anyone out have any experience of the TT adjustable footpegs and adjustable gear lever (P/N041-0633)? The same questions above apply.

A thought just struck me - surely the distance that matters is from the centre of the peg to the gearlever?

Not sure, you can lower them by reversing the mounting bush but I've kept mine in the normal position which may be slightly lower than standard.

forgot to add....................................wearin certain boots i used to have trouble changin gear however i bought the gear lever extender from nippys well worth the money and no probs wearin any boots

if you look at the spigot/shaft that fastens ure footpeg to the bike its angled at 45degrees(ish) therefore when the fasterway is in its lowest position,ie at the bottom of the spigot it further away from the gearlever hope this makes sense

Indeed it does make sense.

But odd that Cornish Bob has found that he lost 30mm of spacing with his Fastway installation.

I wish that someone with the TT option would respond to the thread!

No, I hadn't seen the ADV thread. I'm still not convinced after Cornish Bob's report of a 30mm reduction in peg - lever spacing.

The TT kit seems to be better value. http://www.touratech.com/shops/008/product_info.php?products_id=7174 but I haven't heard from anyone who is using it.

I think you are right. But TT offer a peg + adjustable gearlever set under that part number. Expensive at ~ £150 but it might be perfect! I just haven't found anyone using it.

They seem to push the pegs forward unfortunately!
