Fat bar conversion

Why not just check the Renthal site, see what specs they offer, what you've got on your GS with a tape measure and shorten, lengthen to suit ? That is all I did. Handy tip: Print out the specs page and take it to the garage with you :augie:augie

Chad, if you dont mind me asking whats the gain from fitting larger diameter bars.

Is it a comfort thing, vibration or riding position ??

Number 1 is dialing out the vibes also it gives a broarder range of bars into play to help with the comfort and position.
I've never been keen on the standardbars tbh . And most of all I'm a farkle tart and love making those little improvements. I've had lots of positive feedback from those who have done it:)

I looked into the Touratech Magura conversion for my 1100, one thing that came up was that the alloy bars conduct heat much better than the o/e steel ones so the heated grips (on the LHS at least) are virtually useless.

chad

got a set of heated grips for my KTM with alloy bars and when I bought them it was recommended that I put some heat shrink on the bar before putting the heated grip on to avoid that problem.

risers and bars fitted last night now ive got to figure out how to get all the switch gear back together:augie bits everywhere:D

well i ended up getting the AWS risers as the ricky bars are no longer available.

still im happy with them other that the fact ,when they arrived they were shiny enough to scare a harley rider:eek:

so they got the black treatment to save a few penny's i robbed stormforce8s supply of goodys from his various builds and laid my hands on a set of 990ADV fatbars:cool: so here some pic's

im now sniffing around for a fitting kit to suit the fat bars and get the hand guards mounted as im going to be fitting a set of Vibranators i could not use the BMW heated grips as the require the wire's run through the bars.

to get over this i popped to HienGericke yesterday picked up a set of their own brand heated grips and wired them to fit the BMW controls and they work a treat:beerjug:

as soon as i get the Hand Guards fitted i'll post pics of the finished job:thumb2

tomorrows commute will test them for the first time:augie

in my haste i for got to take pics of the re-fit :blast but it went well with the Vibranators fitted http://www.vibranator.com/

so tomorrow is the first ride with bar end weights and the vibranators so im looking forward to seeing what the results are,as the vibes with the fatbar on its own were about the same as a standard 1150 set up..roll on tomorrows commute:D:D:D:D
