Fatboy as a daily bike?

What I meant to say was if you are going to get out now is the time!! Somebody can save a grand of two for a new bike!!! But as you have bought i'd crack on!! Run it stick some miles on!! Let it get ratty more fun that way!!!

im afraid they are what they are and there not really a sort of commuter bike they are heavy dont corner that well if your used to a more refined ride and this is your first big (ish) harley they take a bit of adjustment in riding style ,having said that they are not for every one some people ride them once and thats enough.
i think if your not sure then it may not be the right bike for you at least you tried one ,ive had 51 bikes i like tourers so i tried the much praised and loved pan european ,i hated it after the first ride unfortunatley i was riding to a int gs meeting in holland but soon as i got back i sold it the next day .people absolutley love them its just not for me im glad i bought one and tried .
with my road king i cant wait to ride even if its down to waitrose ,thats what a bike should feel like if it dont grab you like that then i would move onto the next one .
oh and if it helps ive had so many bikes ive allways lost money on nearly every one i dont mind .

I have been trying to keep away from this, but the cuckoo in the background has got my attention.

Firstly, I feel that the question is indicative of just how spoilt for choice we are these days.

Secondly, I have used bikes for things they were not supposedly intended for according to the manufacturer on many occasions. I recently went on a 1000 mile in 5 days on my Buell, which is a back lane scraper, it coped with everything and was hugely enjoyable.

Thirdly.....I have decided that these first world problems get on my tits and the very fact that someone goes on a motorcycle forum to ask the question of others is somewhat fucking obscene, infact I would say that if I was you, I wouldn`t even think about it, I would just fucking do it, like riding in the winter, you know it is going to get cold and it will probably hurt, but fuck, pain can be good, it builds character and stops you from becoming a purple died poofy poodle fucker.

Biking has generally being infiltrated by fucktards and cuntards to such a degree that I have little time for any motorcycle riders any longer, because of questions like these.

Suck it and fucking see.....If you don`t like it, then possibly go on a man the fuck up course and see how you get on after that.....If I have offended you, then my job here is done:beerjug:

Enjoy your Fat Boy:thumb

Twizzle= check your tyre pressures, and give it time..

ATT= pain is good, so man the fuck up...

You'll have to try harder Att - I actually agree with you!

Davel

I had my first HD 2 yrs ago - an Electra glide ultra. Commuted to London and toured... Ie everything. Have to say that it was not ideal at commuting so I went back to a BM. Now I have the luxury of a BM and a Fatboy which is mostly for fun.

Keep the Fatboy as you'll miss it when it's gone... And see if you can buy another bike for when you have to get from A to B in a hurry, in all weathers....a workhorse.

....and I wish Att would just say what he means, can't bear people who sit on the fence...

No but it might be getting a stable mate...

:D

To be fair my comments were made after a day out in North Wales with a mate on an old ex-blood bike.

As he swept round the bends with apparent ease and a fair speed, as I used to do on my GS, the FB seems to take slow in and fast out to a whole new level which, I guess, was frustrating at the time.

Having slept on it (the issue not the bike), it was a moment of madness and so normality resumes here.

No sorry but that's just not good enough. :rob

Having Harley is great for living the American dream etc but any discerning rider knows that owning one of these lumbering pigs makes it essential to also have a second "proper bike" for normal riding. :thumb2 :D
