Hello!

Anybody have the fault-code list (DTC Diagnostic Trouble Code) for the bmw motorrad r 1200 gs?
I have the full list for the bmw vehicule but I understand it's different for the motobikes

I have an issue with the r1200 gs that has 20.000miles, 2007 and is giving out some error codes

Many thanks

Cheers!

Sorry but I use a GS-911 to read error codes on my bike and it tells me what the nature of the faults are rather than just a meaningless code.

Hi Hombremoto
and welcome to the site
Sorry to hear you are having some issues
As it "is giving out some error codes" I assume you have some form of reader to show this - suggest you let us know what are the symptoms/problems that caused you to put on to the reader, what reader (eg BMW diagnostics or something else? 9-11?) along with the specific codes produced.
Regards.

The GS 911 is a really useful bit of kit, and having a list of all the codes with a description of the fault and what might actually be causing it, would IMHO make the 911 fantastic.

Thanks Bem

Yes, there have been strange symptoms.

All of a sudden, since a month or so, with no apparent cause
riding at speeds over 3500 rpm the warning lights at the instrument panel come on and some elements stop working such as speedometer indicator.
If the high beam headlight is turned on, or a side indicator is swiched on, normality is restored at the instrument cluster. Also if the RPM speed is decreased below 3.500 normality is also restored.

The scanner used is Motorscan5650 (BMBS5650EC) and reads out the following codes
Códigos de falla según Scanner: (scanner fault codes)
B 1309 Bajo Voltaje Sistema Eléctrico (under voltage electric system)
B 1308 Sobrevoltaje Sistema Eléctrico (over voltage electric system)
B1313 CANBUS Timeout BMSK-1
B1314 CANBUS Timeout BMSK.2
B 131 E CANBUS Timeout al RSC
UEC 2FE CANBUS

Any ideas at what could be at fault?

Many thanks

I have a GS911 diagnostic reader and some of the faults you have I have seen on my own bike. The under/over voltage faults have occured after I have disconnected the multipin connector to the back of the instrument console. Worth looking at that connector to see if it's OK or needs cleaning up.
