Can as many of you XR riders just try something for me . While riding with cruise control or not around 30-40 mph lift both hands just off the bars but still cover them . The reason I ask as I have noticed my bike pulls to the right and I can also feel slight resistance while taking left corners . I have searched forums and there seems to be 50-50 some do some don't but the affected bikes have not been resolved any help would be appriciated . Gaz

Mine did that and had an adjustment at first service. I think quite a few have done that.

its fine now so get the dealer to adjust what ever it is the adjust top yoke or fork adjustment in the yokes

Mine does the same. Haven't bothered to take it back yet. Mentioned it at the first service but nothing was apparently found!

Tried this for you yesterday
At 30-40mph she ran dead straight. And no resistance on left handers
There was a slight pull right at 60+ but it was very slight & it's not going to bother me

The chain adjustment guide is very inaccurate and as such could also be causing the problem if the back wheel is not lined up

That's the first thing I'd check, with a straight edge running along the back wheel to the front wheel. Get it set up like that and then always adjust each chain adjuster by the same amount and ignore the marks on the swing arm.

I'm struggling to think what else it could be that can be 'adjusted' out? Slightly twisted yokes wouldn't make the bike pull to one side but you'd notice the bars been big not quite straight.

In my case the bars were clearly out when riding in a straight line and needed adjustment at the yoke easily sorted at service. This thread has reminded me to but the super expensive HP chain adjuster

Thanks to all involved in my previous question . So Friday I went to work everything hunky dory on coming home my bike has developed this awful noise granted it doesn't sound terminal but all the same it hasn't been there for the last 800 Mls I am really getting pissed with these BMW bikes except my 2012 RR which was better behaved than the wife Why o why
what's your thought guys ?

Blimey! I'd be taking that back to BMW asap. It's really difficult to guess what that might be from a video without being able to hear whereabouts in the engine it might be coming from.

Have you tried pulling the clutch in and seeing if the noise goes away? I know on some of my Blackbirds, with age and mileage, there were some bearings that could produce a similar rattling sound from the left side of the engine that went when the clutch was pulled in.

An out of tension cam-chain could also produce a similar rattling sound but I've no idea which side the tensioners are on the XR.

To be honest, I'd just take it back to BMW Asaph. It's under warranty, so get them to sort it and demand a courtesy loan bike while its in. Just my two Penney worth.
Best of luck with it and do let us know the outcome / cause please?
