I have noticed lately when I do a slow left hand turn downhill and rear suspension is loaded that I get a thrumming from my rear end like I have a knobbly on the back. Anyone experienced this before?
2001 R1150GS with 41k miles and what I think is the original FD bearings. Very slight play between 9 and 3 o'clock but it's been like that since i got it 7k miles ago and hasn't got any worse or lost oil. FD oil changed every year and always nice and clear.

As per steptoe's advice and guidance put the bike on the centre stand and have some one apply the rear brake if the play is still there it's the paralever bearing if no play it's in the bevel bearing

Hmmm.... Rumbling sounds familiar. I had that. I checked by coasting down hill, and it remained.

When I got in there, I caught it just in time. The cage was intact, but blimey, the amount of play just at the hub was bad.

Personally, I'd just get the rear wheel off and start taking a closer look

Thanks gents. I’ll check the play but it’s looking like a new bearing. Not surprising given the mileage.
