Got a free weekend and a drive shaft gatier that needs repairing/replaced and my question? as I've got a new pot of CV & Lith-Moly Grease on the shelf is it ok to use that when fitting the new gaiter or do I need some fancy stuff that can only be sourced in outta Mongolia by a man who makes it with he's on fair hands at a price 94quid a oz?
Cheers guys

I use <a href="http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fuchs-Renolit-Red-Rubber-Grease-G51-500g-Pot-/181134048421?hash=item2a2c6e3ca5:g:t44AAOxygLxSaThj" target="_blank">this</a>.

For the gaitors I just use a spray white grease although I expect pretty much anything will do. For the shaft molybdenum grease.

If it's just for fitting the gaiter then you can use whatever you've got. The heavier / stickier it is, the better it'll waterproof the gaiter to swingarm joint. A light coloured grease will look prettier...

The red rubber grease is decidedly sticky and handy for jobs where normal grease would be harmful. About £7 for a tub.

I use revol Lzo white marine grease £7.99 for 500 g tub on e bay. Designed for areas that are subject to frequent washing or immersion. Salt resistant etc.

Thinned with white sprit this could be ideal for painting over the engine top where its hidden & hard to keep clean. Also the alternator thats prone to corrosion on little used bikes.
