2 and a bit year old bike, left hand bar switches went at about 2,000 miles i.e. about 4k ago. Today, well the switch has gone again. The screen has gone up but won't go down, so 2 week wait for the first slot at Williams and then the "new" switches need renewing. They must be made of chewing gum !

Hey oop,

That's bollox innit.
My 2012RT failed at super-low miles in the same way; screen would go up, but not down. Middle of a big tour in hot climate too.
Bike now at 8k and I'm heading to Europe for 3 weeks this Saturday. Better take a wiring diagram for when mine fails again!

Fancy a run out when I'm back?
Or meet you at Garmisch on the 4/7/14 for BMW Bike Days :-)

Yes that'd be good, the run out that is. No big tours for me this year except for a Phoenix to Las Vegas round trip in October. Let me know when you are back safe and sound.

Well my replacement switches lasted 8k miles before the indicators failed.

Bike now waiting for its 3rd left hand switch cluster.

Lots of other niggles; don't ride it much; not impressed.

It must be a Manchester switch failure thing !

My screen failed in the down position on my '11 plate, dealer had to replace whole screen motor assembly and switchgear.
