heylp !! my laptop has gone on the fritzz!!!!

went to start it up and it booted as normal then bink!

up comes a page all apologetic asking me to select an option as it had not started properly.
i selected the option and it goes to reset then bink!
again nice apology and tries to reset it goes around and around and around but dont boot up arrrrrhhggg heylp please

or is ai a thin wheel chock now!!

Which option are you selecting Graham??

Try 'last known good configuration'....if that fails, try 'safe mode'....

If that fails, chances are your hard drive is fekked

On the assumption your laptop has a floppy drive....

If not, you could try copying the same 3 files to a CDR and booting from a CD. If it saves losing your data it is worth a try.

If you have the XP disk, you could bung it in and boot from it to enable you to select a system repair. You might need to change the boot order in the BIOS to do this.

thanks boys i have resolved the issue!!

as i was unable to reset the drivers, i unfortunatly had to wipe the system losing all the previously loaded stuff..

possibly a good thing as i had a shedload of shite on it too..

i think it was a virus that dun me in the end cos as soon as i set it all up , life is now good in the slimbo notebook world..

Good news then, but for fecksake get some A/V and anti malware stuff loaded to minimise such crap !
