Short mudguard/vulnerable rads (water and oil). Fender extender (Wunderlich or Pyramid) and/or rad guards(s)?

A fender extender will keep a reasonable amount of muck from flying around. It won't do much to stop debris hitting the oil cooler. Whether the debris will ever do much more than bend the radiator's fins is debatable (straighten them with a pair of tweezers *) - or do anything more than make a bit of a mess of flies and road gunk, which will wash off - but a simple guard will work.

The big water radiator is probably safe enough but guards are cheap enough.

* and / or use a small screwdriver, the same diameter as the gap between the fins. When using a screwdriver, always upwards towards the loop.

Rad guards. The fender extender is pointless on this bike, as the majority of the radiator and oil cooler will still be exposed.

Will they? It looks like FE will protect water but not oil rad. Anyone fitted either Wunderlich or Pyramid?

I am with Nutty on this
the fender extender will stop muck getting sprayed up the rad to a certain degree but aesthetically adds clutter to the bike whereas the rad guards look more a natural thing and will actually protect the rads

Rad guards for me. There is a balance between total protection and airflow. With an engine as high revving and hot as this one it needs very little restriction. IMHO simple mesh guards are the best (I have fitted R&G but I`m not saying they are the best) - the mesh isn`t going to stop dirt and crap etc nor a heavy large object but its better than nothing and possibly a good compromise.

And it hides bent fins..............

I bought the Wunderlich fender extender, but can't bring myself to fit it as it involves drilling 2 small holes in the original mudguard. I don't want to drill holes in my brand new bike!
It's also got Evotech rad and oil cooler guards which seem to do a top job of protecting the coolers on the stone chip covered roads we have in North Yorkshire.

Carbon extender and both guards for me, but then I'm a belt and braces man.......

You are not drilling holes in your brand new bike. You are drilling holes in a bit of shaped plastic.

Can't face it?

OK glue it.
