Yes, I'm a member of that silent majority. Erm. Was. But my servos still work and I'm still happy with them.
Therefore I would appreciate a catagoric answer........
Would a 2005 1150 GSA with punched steel ABS ring be fitted with the Servo assisted braking system and furthermore should this version be avoided in lieu of a non ABS variety?
Many thanks

The silent majority are happy with their servo ABS, I've had servo brakes since 2001 and no problems yet!
Don't forget all those that have servo brakes (which means linked brakes too),and ABS and are happy with the security it gives, lots of airing of possible failures and some who have had it fail, but lets not forget the majority with it that have had no problems. Its the failing of forums like this that highlight and over emphasise faults out of all proportion.

May I suggest that they are the owners yet to receive the £1200 bill for its replacement. And as yet haven't experienced NO brakes just as they're needed.![]()
I have a servo/abs unit that I removed from my 2004 R850R. that was in perfect working order when I removed it a couple of months ago.
If anybody wants it come and collect it. FREE.
or I will throw it in the bin after xmas.
Since "no brakes" are mentioned, I worried about that and rode to the top of the longest, steepest hill I could find hereabouts. Coasting down at 40mph or so with the ignition off, I'd say the residual braking without servos was about on par with my old 1970s brembo-braked Guzzi Convert.
Try having it fail without warning, when you are expecting normal braking, thats when you will appreciate what is meant by no brakes.I'll take you up on that. How does tomorrow evening sound?I have a servo/abs unit that I removed from my 2004 R850R. that was in perfect working order when I removed it a couple of months ago.

Much worse than I understand the result of servo removal to be.
I am currently looking for a replacement for my ageing 2002 standard GS with 135k on the clock, and would like the next steed to be of the Adventure strain as the additional tank range would be useful.
I have looked at the eBay offerings and one did catch my eye.
Therefore I would appreciate a catagoric answer........
