New 1150GSA to me this weekend through private sale. Horn worked once then stopped. It is fitted with two FIAMM horns but only one is connected, there are two terminales that have been tapped up.

Pressing the horn switch makes a relay click. I have no idea which relay. None of the fuses appear to have blown.

Anyone with any ideas as to how these horns should be connected and possible cause of failure?

Cheers

this is what they look like installed:

I have a pair of these on my VFR. They draw a surprisingly large current.....I can't remember how much at the moment. In the end we had to wire them in exactly the same way as you would a pair of auxiliary lamps, taking a fused live feed from the battery and using the original horn feed to switch the relay.

Just taken both horns off and connected directly to the battery to test. Not so much as a whimper out of either of them. Also checekd with a multimeter on the two horn wires when pressing the handlebar switch and there is power!

So anyone like to suggest a good replacement!

I have a pair like those on my 1150 and they are very good. There is a relay as standard so no problems. Buy another pair, cheap as chips.

FWIW, the Stebel Compact I put on the 1200 did not last a hot trip, and any single horn will not give the power of a dual note - IMHO
