Hi folks

I looked around for some ideas on tinter web on how to fit one of these jobs into my 2018 GSA and only found a couple of pointers so thought I’d stick some photos up of how I did it.

I put it on the same bracket as the OE horn, in the same position, but spaced about 10mm away from the forks - hopefully the photos are self explanatory.

Yep.... did exactly the same on my 2014 GSA. Works a treat and sounds awesome.

Apart from the spacers, is it just 'plug and play' or do you have to swap wiring plugs etc?.
Thanks.

You need to run a 20A fused cable from the battery to the relay that comes with it, then one of NN’s canbus connectors and a short cable with two spade ends are all you need. It’s about an hours work, remove the top RH crash bar bolt and ease it away, saves ages .

Within 2 hours of fitting it was used in anger, worked well.

Cheers.

Seen a write up a while ago, but can’t seem to find it, where a BMW 5 series car horn fits straight on and is compatible with the GS can bus system. May give one of these a go.

I looked at that, but given I’ve got to take the bodywork off anyway, which takes the time, figured I’d put the loud one on.

No point starting a new thread so I’ll resurrect this one.
I’d appreciate some pictures or the horn in this position but with all the panels on.
I’ve one of these horns and I’ve not bolted into place place but offered it up in this position and it looks crap!

The bottom of the horn with all the wires showing is clearly visible below the bodywork panel.

I posted the 5 series installation some time back. You need to get one of the mini sound bomb wiring adaptors and solder the ends to the 5 series connections, then plug and play at the other end into the existing CANBUS wiring harness plug. The only other mod needed is to make up a new bracket to mount it as it needs to be mounted so that the forks clear it and also that it points down so as not to get water ingress into the front of the horn opening. It works well, but just occasionally it trips something in the system and stops working (happened twice in the last 6 months) but is fine once the bike is next turned on. The alternative is just to fit the mini sound bomb which is plenty loud enough. I will have to take and post new photos to show it in place but any loud car horn should work equally as well (doesn't need to be a bmw one) providing the current draw doesn't exceed the wiring rating.

It’s the Fiamm Ultimate I have. I already have the Denali Mini and the Canbus adaptor.
