Fella`s, Norman Birtles (of NN fame) has asked me to come up with a solution for fitting a FIAAM Ultimate Blast Horn to an LC, being willing to help anyone I set to! I found a good mounting point on mine right up under the beak which was fine but its where the ESA mounts (I don`t have ESA......).
Soooooo, back to the drawing board............. and seemingly the only near plausible mounting place I could find was by partially occupying the radiator exhaust cowl. The horn is mounted to a bracket which extends from a sturdy M8 frame mounting position (so I am happy with that
) but I`m not sure if by occupying some of the rad exhaust cowl (which affords some weather protection to the horn) I might have not seen something `obvious` (it happens).
So, I made it so that the horn could either sit as far up into the cowl as possible (thereby maximising weather protection) but with a lower setting so its not stuffed right up there but more exposed to the elements. Cunning as a fox, me
So, going back to the positioning may I ask if anyone can see if there`s `owt I`ve missed
I can`t see the exhaust heat melting the horn but as I said I might have missed something!
This photo shows the horn fitted in the void where the ESA would fit, under the beak and near to the steering column

These ones are of the horn repositioned in the radiator exhaust cowl and yes the horn is about as high up the cowl it can go without getting twisted and looking daft. And seen from the front it does seem to tuck in very nicely but like a dick I forgot to take a photo................
Higher position on the bracket
