Filtering - am I morally right with my aux lights?

As a consequence, the pulling over habit is slowly dying out, too.

Yes. But still significantly higher than other places.
Also, the French (and the Italians) still use scooters a lot. Young and not.

Anyway, without the usual British overcomplication/nitpicking, when on a motorbike: filter if you want. And do it nicely. :)
Vast majority of people in the vast majority of EU countries are ok with it. End expect it. :D

I don't recall any problems filtering. No special lights / exhaust / hazard lights and I don't race through the traffic. Keep it steady and polite.

When a mate bought his nearly new R1250GS, I remember saying to him that I couldn't see his indicators when he was braking. My new GSA has this same (lack of) rear light set up and I am tempted to fit the brake light interrupter on the side that's indicating. Even an additional independent brake light. But the price puts me off, and the feeling I'm shelling out to fix something that should have been corrected by the factory, irrational though that may be.

I recall the day of riding my R1 from Fareham to Cirencester to trade it for my Tmax.
On the way there nobody wanted to allow me to filter past them on a sports bike however the return ride by Scooter was a revelation, with traffic parting like the red sea on my approach to the A34/M3 Winnal junction through heavy rush hour traffic. I was literally taken aback at the contrast.

It seems a scooter is not perceived as a threat to a car drivers manliness whereas a full on sportsbike is....... its so easy to ride like a Gay and make progress. :D

The multiple light trend just like keeping the empty luggage on your bike all the time is not about safety but to make sure everyone knows that you have a great big bike that is bigger than their bike.
It’s what the psychologists call “little man syndrome”, some time associated with low self-esteem or an undersized phallus.
and just like having an expensive watch, or branded clothing, or an expensive big car....all the same...........Look at me syndrome.....

Exactly .
BMW have even incorporated Oompah Loompah Mode so these midgets with attitude can mount their awesomeness steeds as it lowers automatically then rises back up to full wanktastic magnificence .

Flat white please 😜
A well engineered and useful addition to the bike for all riders. regardless of height.

Last Friday 2.15pm riding over the tops into Bala. Some bellend on a 1250gsa with, enough lights on to give you a suntan, comes over the brow of a hill on my side of the road, a very scary moment. I was still seeing the lights when I blinked 5 minutes later. I really don't get this multiple lights thing.
SMIDSY is why you will get it ;)

My lone riders and Chinese led headlamp cause no issues during the day
But come the dark mornings or late nights, the amount of feckers who flash me is increased

The lone riders are on about 50% setting

So every time one of the oncoming flashes me from half a mile up the road. , I duly flash back giving them 100% lonerider and full led

Funny they never flash any more after that ;)

Why not adjust them so they don’t blind oncoming traffic?
Who says they aren't adjusted correctly? They are proper bright and people think they are on full beam

Most often, even in broad daylight in central London, the bike (and its accompanying rider) vanish in the blaze of light. Have one come up behind you in the London tunnels, lights blasting in the car’s mirror and you are all but blinded.
