Filtering / lane splitting is now legal in France

As from the 11/01/2025 filtering or lane splitting is now generalized for the whole of France

Yes , I know it’s always been tolerated but now that it's officially included in the code de la route you can get a fine for doing it wrong

Don’t do it on the périphérique around Paris for example as the speed limit is too low to qualify ………

Merci....it'll take me a few hours of riding to find enough cars that are forming a 'jam' of sorts to try it out.....I normally ride for 60 miles and see fewer than 10 vehicles......

Ta for this. So GSAs with ally panniers can't (legally) filter as they're wider than 1m

+1 Although I've had to filter quite a bit around the Rennes ring road in the past.
