Final drive bearing seal.

Hi all, I have just checked my final drive bearing as per Steptoe`s excellent instructions.
However on popping the new seal back in I have noticed that it sits slightly further in than the old one, are there likely to be any problems with this or is there nowt to worry about?

When I did mine at 26,000 miles I deliberately pushed the seal a bit further in to get away from the rust line outside of where the old seal sat.

It lasted until 61,000 miles when Steptoe replaced it for me and commented that the seal was too far in

Thanks for your reply,hopefully it will be ok for a few miles then! I am going to France in a couple of weeks and have another new seal and bearing which I am going to take with me, just in case
