Bearing failure.

Mine was diagnosed, at the 18k service and 1st MOT.
Went in yesterday for the bearing to be replaced. When I phoned for an update I was told that the bearing had been spinning and caused wear on the boss, they have to order the correct shim. Then they are going to use loctite on the boss to take up the wear:confused: They state that this will be a permanent repair. They also state that they only see this problem 2/3 times a year.
(They are Bristol Motorad.)

Having read the previous posts I will be changing the oil regularily and checking the bearing for play even more often!

My mates bmw Which he got s/hand 49,000 mile(53plate adventure) had no play @ all when we picked it up on the saturday 120 mile ride home & failed the next day
When we went in to it's history & this is the fourth to fail all fitted by BMW dealers :augie last one lasted 6,000 mile, can only think it's never been set up from the factory & no dealer has sorted the cause of the failure .
We spoke to bmw as just putting bearing's in till it was out of warranty was not repairing the problem, but as he is not the origional owner they did not want to know
