Hi All,

A friend donated a new and unopened bottle of Motul 300 synthetic 75 -W90 gear oil..
Is this the correct quality / type to use in the final drive of a 2009 R1200GS ?
Thanks in advance for advice

S

Thank you Fizzer
I have taken the plunge and pick up the GS next Wednesday afternoon..
She drove beautifully. You can really tell when someone looks after a bike (or car)

What Bendy means is that 75-90 is the specified grade but some people prefer to use 75-140.

I use Millers, Opie, Castrol fully synthetic 75w140 gear oil in gearbox and final drive.

But I'm no brand tart they probably all come out of the same factory/refinery.

I would never use it in a new gearbox as it will affect the bedding in process. But anything "well run in" will be better for a layer of super tough oil on every metal surface.

Ive not noticed any negative effects on fuel economy.

Bendy..
Would you say 12,500 miles is "well bed in" enough ?
