FINAL DRIVE SPLINES..WHICH GREASE

Sorry if it's been covered before but I am going to check my final drive (suspect water got )

2 Questions

1. what grease should I use for the splines (and where do I get it from)
2. What grease should I use on the rubber boot (and where do I get it from)

so 4 questions really.

Advice much appreciated.

castrol optimol or wurth do a similar stuff,having said that cv grease would probs be fine,nothing needed on the rubber boots

Thanks Fizzer I thought the rubber boot needed greasing to stop water ingress.

I use Stabarag grease which was the original 'anti fling' grease used by BMW - now superceded. Personally any good quality anti fling / waterproof grease would suffice for me - most dont bother to grease, for me its a quick, nescesary job. rubber boots use waterproof / silicone based grease

You need a moly based grease on splines. Honda Moly 60 is a substitute for BMW's

As many have said honda moly 60 on spline and i use marine grease on boot ,Just serviced drive and not a speck of rust on drive shaft and I ride all year so it must work
