NOt in as good condition as i was hoping but then she has got 90000 miles on her and at least she is complete......Taking her for a service and general look over by a guy who is good with air-heads and if mechanically sound then i will start to spend some money tidying her up though where do i start lol.....any advice much welcome.
Will be trying to do alot of the work myself after the expert gives her the once over

I have been riding one bike or another for 30 years but have never bought a old classic for a winter project....enjoyed riding her back from Paddington today but want to restore her to her former glory.
I like a challenge and i have never done this sort of thing b4

If you reverse the filter the shit in it will go to the carb
replacements like that one are about 3 quid from Halfrauds
or get 2 new best looking glass recleanable ones from motobins about 6 or 7 quid each - they look stylish as well
Get a climbers manual if you can its easiest the best for your job

Get a big a4 book and write down jobs to do and jobs yerve done

Nice bike. I would suggest you decide how perfect you want it. You will be surprised how nice you could make it with a bit of T euro on the alloy, Satin hammerite on the rusty frame bits and a bit of paint on the side panels. A complete strip and rebuild is a big and expensive job. Make her tidy and use while you decide what you want to do

Sorry but these kind of posts are confusing....are you saying if i reverse it that the shit will go into the carbs or are you saying that they are reversed and the shit is going into the carbs???????????????.
This is all new to me to keep it simple lol.....like they are fine as they are or turn them around lol.

Don't turn the filter(s) round - buy new ones - they're cheap as chips.

Sorry but did say new to this........so everything is the right way round then...you are saying just buy new filters and put them in the same way.

Buy new ones but put them on the other way round to the ones currently on the bike. They sometimes (but not always) have an arrow moulded into the plastic filter body to help.

Mate,

The fuel filter on your bike is currently the wrong way round. If you simply turn that one around so it faces the other way, then the crud that is currently in it will flow from it and stick in your carb.

Better to buy a new, clean, one and fit it facing the right way in the first place.
