Ladies and Gents,

The wait is over! Finally! What a relieved feeling!

The bike is nice but it's very new. I can now see why some people have complained about the engine being rough and the suspension stiff...
All that I can do now is put miles on it to losen it up... I hate running bikes in, so I don't know what approach I'll take. I guess that I'll play it by ear quite a bit.
Still waiting for my H&B bars... and got a few modifications in mind, but I'll put that in other threads.

On a dealer note; HOOVE and North Oxford Garage have been absolutely superb! Big thanks!

I'm happy for you!

:)
If you want to make som modifications; have a look at AC Scnitzer: acscnitzer.com

:) Liv.

Pleased you got the new toy at last.
Got mine yesterday, put 100 miles on it yesterday afternoon. Must say I dont find it particularily rough or the suspension harsh, its just a bit er...slow! But then again I just traded a Fireblade for it. I have to say I'm warming to it.....but I also hate running bikes in!
I have my H&B bars (from Motobins) I just dont have the right size TORX bits to fit my Torque wrench.
Good luck with yours. Have Fun.:beerjug: :D

HAHAHHAH!!!! Yes... The thought has crossed my mind, several times... I reckon it's just a matter of how long my patience is going to last...

... after all; they're built to be ridden... :beerjug: Thanks!

Got mine at 20 past 6 yesterday eve... It's now got 85 miles on it... Had to eat and sleep :( Will probably put about 120 on it before the day is over...

Like you say, the suspension feels a bit slow, a bit non-compliant... a bit like a sports bike actually. Not necessary a bad thing, but I can certainly feel that it'll be better with miles on it... :)

I ordered my H&B bars from motobins too, but no show so far :(

... Now when can I get out of the office...?!?!

Hurrah Joker :)

I got mine last week, did 650 miles over the weekend and now I'm trying NOT to ride it too much until the service (booked for saturday).

When I picked it up, the technical dude at the shop who was showing me round the bike said "Don't worry about the 4000rpm limit, just ride it. Don't make it labour and don't red line it constantly but apart form that just ride it". Or words to that effect :)

I gave mine some beans during the first 20 miles (the ring seating theory) but avoided going over 7000rpm. I think hard acceleration is more important than high rpm. Since then I've not been scared to go up to 6k briefly but not for long periods. 4k in top gear is about 80mph.

Cool! That's pretty much what I'm thinking of doing too... but I feel it should get a few more miles under it's belt first... Have done a few "loadings" for the rings too... :)

... And my H&B bars just arrived! :beerjug:

Thanks! I sure will!

... Just have to wait till Sunday to find some carbon-fibre-ducati-riders to play with on the small roads ..... MMMuuauahahahahhahah!!! :D :D ;)

Congratulations Joker, I have to say its a very special feeling getting that new bike home and admiring it in the garage.

Somewhere on another thread someone gave fitting instructions for the H&B bars, i printed them off and followed them at the weekend - absolutely bang on they were as well.

Mine has just over 100 miles on it and has been up over the 4000 mark several times, still feels a bit slow though.

Will that be Saturday morning at Southport then? I've got the afternoon slot for mine.

I'm also trying to ration the miles till then... not easy.

Yup, gotta drop it off at 9am! Better keep to a mere 8 pints the night before :D

Still, it means I'll be able to play with it in the afternoon.

Oddball, isn't the feeling just wonderful! :D

Probably on Saturday I'm going to make sure I have the tools, print out the destructions for fitting the bars, crack open a beer, and just enjoy tinkering on my new bike... Aaaah! :)

We'll see about the 4000rpms.. HEhehe... :) :D
